Default Help - boost -

Guys (ladies), I need your help.......

95 WRX Wagon Import/Jap spec...
Mods... Nur spec center and back box...(stock downpipe)

Major Overboost problem.....
1st and 2nd WOT boosting seems spot on all the way to redline pulling smooth and solid.
from 3rd onwards she is boost/fuel cutting hardcore when giving it iron!

Hooked up a boost gauge and looks like 1st and 2nd boosting steady around10psi and then almost wants to double midway through 3rd, 4th 5th etc... so will just boost/fuel cut... Sometimes it may also have a cut high up in 2nd gear now and again if cained.

I have checked all hoses and boost lines for any leaks, damage etc.. 'Nothing'!
I then swapped the boost seloniod, actually I swapped the entire assembly with the boost sensor, seloniod and all it's switches and hoses from another 95 WRX that I know works 100% , and it made absoutly no difference..
And yes the restrictor pill is there, and as I said I swapped even that bit of pipe/hose from a properly working car.

Done a proper ECU reset and it made no difference, also showed no 'fault codes'...

I even took out the ECU and opened it up to see if it was somehow modded or has damage etc.. couldn't really fault it....

Car works fine otherwise... starts on the button, idles and runs spot on apart from this issue.

So what am I missing then.... whats causing this.... starting to scratch the head a bit now.

Any ideas, suggestions are more than welcome...........

Thanks

Have you cleaned the hoses, sometimes this can help.

Sticking actuator , so not opening waste gate ?? Correct ecu for a wagon as you should have a td04 turbo fitted where the saloon has the td05 turbo ??? Does your wagon still have a td04 fitted or has previouse owner changed turbo .

hope the gearbox and exhausts get to you okay .

Thanks Mark, it is indeed the original TD04 on it... as is the ECU(I believe).

Fingers crossed I get everything tomorrow before the weekend as I am hoping it may be the Nur Spec set up thats pushing it over the edge, and swapping with it with the stock or other one may sort it.

It's also rather difficult in testing the car as it is, it needs to be on WOT to check the problem, but it's so dam loud....

I'll report back on the weekend when hopefully I will have the system replaced, but keep the suggestions rolling guys..........
