hi ive just bought a 2006 sti with one of these back boxes on but its really quiet is there any cheap way to solve this?and get some rumble? its still under warranty so dont want to get in too deep, thanks

 

Put it up for sale and buy a Blitz Nur-Spec S (back box only, 3" bore that connects at OEM 2.5").

Ive got one fitted to mine and to start with I wasnt impressed.. but it kind of grown on me and its not too loud in town. Try decats might make it louder.

 

decats not really an option though is it what with warranty and remap needed?take it there isnt another section inbetween back box and cat that would make a difference? i only ask coz i havent picked it up yet so cant have a look. cheers

 

yes theres another centre pipe between the last cat and the backbox - its got a deresonator section in it as standard to help reduce the boomy noise of the exhaust. should make it a little louder by replacing it with straight through, but if your after a lot more noise, you'll need to change the backbox too i reckon.

 

Spend £100 on a de-res centre or sell your Ninja and put sub £100 with the proceeds towards a Blitz ... no brainer.
