Default Cost of bottom end rebuild

Hi,
Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much a bottom end rebuild on a standard '99 WRX Sti jap import should cost?

Would be much appreciated before I try for a few quotes tommorrow.

Cheers folks...I'm in Northern Ireland.

The engine has only started to knock so I'm guessing I don't need a crank if I've got it early enough??Would this be right?

no thats not right, mine only just went and i stripped it and crank, rod bearing were all buggered.

just depends you could be lucky.

bottom end rebuild isn't bad if you don't put good internals in. which is criminal if you ask me. your in there any way so spend a bit more and make it stronger if you plan on keeping it.
