Default help car won't start!!!!!

Hi,
just went to go to work, but the car won't start!

We have a totally standard 1998 uk spec turbo 2000.
The engine turns over but won't start any ideas what's wrong with it?

It was working ok on Saturday as we drove down to Cornwall & back, but we did notice a slight burning smell coming from under the bonnet.

Thanks Graham

first thing i would check is can you here the fuel pump prime when you turn on the ignition if not its the pump/pump wiring or fuse.

is there a relay somewhere as i dont know i can hear summat click when i activate the immobiliser but cant hear the pump i dont know where to look for the fuse or relay as not on the reverse of fusebox in car or under bonnet.

In your case, I think I'd be suspecting the immobiliser.

Goto the 'search' function above and type in"car not starting" including the quote marks. You will recieve 100 results of which most will be applicable to your problems. You can then start working through it at your leisure.

I have given you this advise as there are so many different causes and it will give you more answers than a simple thread.
