Default cylinder 4 misfire

hi i have an 01 bug eye wrx uk model with code p0304 misfire under full throttle the car is very hesitant with no real power and feels like its holding back? slowly feeding the power is a little better but when i reach max boost - 1bar its like hitting a wall, and at 70 mph in fith gear my 1.8 mondeo accellerates faster! can anyone please help? ps new plugs fitted and coils changed no better

my classic had a problem like this turned out to be a relay under the dash that was fcuked

A compression test and cylinder leak down test would a good starting place - you will know if the engine is mechanically sound inside before looking outside the engine for the problem.

check the neutral switch it's a well known problem

Yea the neutral switch can be a problem, but it doesn't cause any run problems or lack of power as such, it just flags a missfire that is non existent.

the car is driving me crazy! im ready for the box of swan and the gallon of petrol anyone ever experienced these simptoms on a bug eye before??
