Default Engine cuts out after a couple of minutes!!!

When the car is started from cold it idle's and runs fine. After a couple of minutes it just cuts out!!! The car will restart and run fine again. Ive changed the maf and water temp sensors but still have the same result!!! Im currently running a standard z4 ecu. Could the cause of the problem be the lambda or cam/crank sensor???
Matt.

Does engine light come on? Is fuel pump on the way out?

Check engine light doesnt come on. Fuel pump is a walbra 255. There doesnt seem to be a drop in pressure on the fuel reg gauge. It stays at around 3 bar at idle.

I had the exact same problem on my girlfriends alfa romeo 156.
The crank sensor was changed and this cured the problem.
It was failing because when the engine was warming up, the sensor material expaned and lost connection, thus cutting the engine out, common fault on that model of car but sounds like the same problem you have.

did you reset the ecu after replacing those other parts?

I would also check around for air leaks

The ecu wasnt reset as the check engine light didnt stay on. I will try a differant crank and cam sensor, reset the ecu and see if this makes a differance.
Thanks for the help and if anyone can think of something else please let me know.

rest the ecu before you touch any other sensors. Its not unknown for the ecu to not realise that something has changed. Not saying it will solve it, but it starts you off on the right foot. Good luck in solving it, I hae problems like that that can be anything!!

Cam and crank sensor changed, ecu reset. Still does the same from cold. It seems to be when the car comes off cold start!!! Could it be overfuelling and stalling the engine?

overfuelling does sound likely, I know you said you swapped the coolant temp, but is it a working one?

All sensors were working when I borrowed them from my mates car. I was running an apexi fc with an Andy forrest mafsim. Ive had no luck with these mafsims and I was on my 3rd. I took the mafsim and apexi fc off the car and refitted the air flow meter and standard z4 ecu. Im currently running an md321t turbo and im just wondering if the extra swirl/ flow is giving the airflow meter the wrong signal and inturn making it run really rich and stalling?
