Default Centre Section Doesn't Fit!

Hi all

I've bought a de cat centre section, seller advertised it to fit classic, 22b etc, which was fair enough as i thought that they were all the same anyway

went to fit it last night and its about 3 inches too long, such a pain!

any ideas what its for? i though maybe a jap spec one? are they actually a different setup?

James

All classics should be the same uk or jdm. Uk car has a cat in the centre, but cat or not they should be the same size.

Probably will be off a new age one.

just found out that new age ones are shorter, the plot thickens, was also suggested it was off a custom system, wish the guy who sold it would get back to me, although if he has ripped me off with just a random bit of pipe i dont think he will

cheers guys

It all depends on the downpipe. I had a similar issue and had to have my 3" system altered to fit my downpipe as the centre section didnt match up with the back box and downpipe.

I had this when I had to replace my exhaust a couple of months ago, I just wanted to replace the center pipe so I bought that and went to fit only to find it wouldn't fit. Too short IIRC, the point is the aftermarket cat-back exhaust I had was not made in the same lengths as a std exhaust. So I had to buy another back box. All sorted now.
