I'm looking to convert my hydraulic PS to electric.
Is there in the market any company that does this???

I found this, but is far too expensive

Most of the rally boys use a Vauxhall Corsa assembly. I believe it just needs a tweek to its control box.

What are the gains you're looking for by changing to electric? The reason manufacturers are using electric steering in some cars is
a) Speed sensitive steeering - you probably won't get this by using a conversion from another car
b) To reduce pipe length e.g. in a mid engined car like the MR2.

No one does it for power gains. I remember reading an article about underdrive pulleys where they tested be removing the power steering and alternator belt and only saw a difference of 3hp: Underdrive Pulleys ... Our Testing

saiklon:
With the electric power steering, you can adjust the steering feel, you dont need to lift weights. You can link it to the Motec ECU and and make a 3D table to relate the steering feel with speed and other parameters.

You also free the engine from one pulley and the engine bay from tanks and hoses.
However the main reason I want to convert to electric is to get rid of the fluid and the danger of leaks, since this is a racing car. I had two fires because of a leaking steering fluid onto the headers

172sport: do you know anybody who actually did this convertion?
