Default how much for a forged engine?

my scoob is running 100% (touch wood )

i was/am thinking about selling her for a r32 liner.

but if i do decide to keep her, i would like to have some projects to keep my self busy.

things that im thinking of is

tein s tec springs

a forged 2.5 engine, think this would be better for me over the 2L as most of the driving is to the shops and back, no track work etc.

6 speed or dog box.

i would like to do the work my self

future planns for 09 if i keep her

To Build yourself a forged 2.5 you're looking at 4000 ish assuming you use a brand new short block.

depends if you go fully forged or what block you buy etc.

i've got semi closed deck 2.5 with omega forged rally pistons, everything all in to do that is now over 3500.

so fully forged etc wld be a lot more. but a 2.5 sti short block will have forged crank and rods usually.

4k is a pretty good figure though. depending if you need a clutch etc. need uprated clutch for 2.5 as more torque.

all depends on what spec you want your build

budget around 7-8k for the work as you will need gearbox and clutch
my last forge 2.5 build with all mods needed to run it cost me 15K+ !!

give david at api a call as a forged 2.5 neednt cost the earth//the guys talking big nos are the guys running big bhp and who put the best of everything in
a basic 2.5 with forged pistons/crank/arp studs etc will b more than adequate for most peoples power requirments...400-450 for the road is a good figure its normally the ancillarys of turbo/fpr/injectors/pump/poss fmic that add to the price
