Default '98 Turbo2000 Misfire after heavy rainfall

Hi All,

I have got a Turbo2000 which has got a nasty misfire after a night of very heavy rainfall.. I had it the other day too but after the engine warmed up the misfire cleared and thought nothing else of it.. but this morning after a really heavy night of rain the misfire just wont clear..

I know it is most likely going to be the coilpack or something along those lines, but i was just wondering if anyone has had this before and found a solution for the problem. Also if it is the coilpack does anyone know how much they are??

Thanks
Lee

Thats because your not suppose to remove the covers because the electrics are below one of them, get those wet and you will have problems!

I have not taken the covers off.. i am just wondering if over time the housing for the coil has cracked and since it has not been raining this bad for a long time i have just not noticed it.. i hope its something simple.. cant be bothered to be doing too much work in this awful weather..

I thought it would be down to the MAF too. Mine does it, let it warm up...give her a bit of a boot and it clears...

Std airbox for me too, but no under bonnet sheilds.

I thing ill refit them and water proof the lot then see how it goes. The retaining clip has been broken off the plug on mine though.

I have had this a couple of times lately!

Like yours only happens after heavy rain fall then clears after car has been running for a while?

Its only started since i put a induction scoop on to get more cold air onto my hks induction kit.

Mines never done it even with no covers? I've put them back on to see if there is a difference.
