Boost controller...
Evening all,
Has anyone fitted an electronic boost controller to a classic without any ecu mods? Looking to just fit one to help regulate overboost and perhaps up boost to 1 bar from 0.8. Any info would be great cheers!

I'm 90% certain the best/cost effective one to get is the A'PEXi AVC-R. Lots, of useful features, and going from 0.8 to 1bar shouldn't be a problem.
The unit comes in either a silver casing, or black, and has a dual-tone dark & light blue LED display. I think you can pick 'em up on here and eBay for c. 70 quid used. I think they're about double that new.
John
P.S. The great thing about it is, is that should you go the fully mappable ECU route later on, then you can get the A'PEXi Power FC and the AVC-R works in harmony with it. And dependent on your supporting mods, the PFC and AVC-R can be mapped with elevated levels of boost, knowing the fueling will be properly matched to the airflow.

I installed a Greddy Profec a week ago.
It was pretty simple to install and setup just 2 wires live and ground, vacuum pipe and harness lead from boost solenoid.
The hardest part is routing through the bulkhead.
It does everything I want it to and a second hand one can be picked up for around £100.

Sorry I don't really understand your question.
I've been running it for 3 weeks now I haven't noticed any problems.
What would be nice is if the boost could be mapped to each gear I don't know if the AVCR does this.
