do you have a cel on the dash?

Could be the crank sensor as this will stop the plugs firing. Can you hear your fuel pump prime when you turn on the ignition?

It only happened last night & it was dark I managed to get one of the lads I know at my work place to have a quick look but it was a bit too dark to really see! Hopefully he is going to look at it for me this lunchtime but just wanted an idea on where to start. I dont have a manual for my car as I always take it to garages for repairs & don't know where all these things are. I work at a truck garage but they are so different to cars so if you could point me in the right direction that would be great!

where are you located???

first thing to find out if its delivering fuel and if it is actually spaking.
if no to the both of the above chances are a blown fuse under the bonnet.

once u narrow that down i can help u out a bit further as i had same problem.
