Default version6 sti type ra info neeeded

ive seen a version 6 sti ra however it has the chargespeed body kit and i spotted some speakers through the rear window. fresh from japan.

anyone got pictures of what on looks like standard? so i can tell the gguy to return itto standard and give me it at a lower price.

although ill see if he'll let me keep the front bumper as that will be better for a front mount..

i want to make sure its as close to standard as possible so i aint adding uneccsary waeight..

what should i also look out for on the test drive?cheers

There's one on Pistonheads - its a WRC Limited with after market alloys but apart from that looks standard.
Link here:
Subaru : ** VERY RARE STI V6 TYPE RA WRC V-LIMITED **

Check the DCCD works properly and listen for odd noises from the engine. Check the applied model code and gearbox code to make sure its a genuine RA. other tell tale signs to look for; no rear wash wipe, ariel on drivers side A post. If its a limited verison it will have aircon, electric mirrors & windows. The very rare non limited editions won't have these luxury's. Check for service history and the original import paperwork. Also check for re-mapping for UK Fuel

Post Subaru Impreza WRX Type RA STi Version VI

WTF! You've posted it THREE times!

Info here. AGAIN! lol ...

Sorry about the quality - it was taken from a book using my old(ish) generation camera-phone and I haven't got a photo-editing program on my PC lol

The above car is actually a version 5, and not a v.6 STi Type RA, so its rear wing's top blade doesn't have the little 'kick-up' to it (externally this is the only difference between ver 5 and 6 STi Type RA).

The difference that the Type RA has over all other WRX/STi variants is its lack of side skirts/rear bumper skirts. Also RA's had unpainted black door handles - certainly up to MY98 version 4 - but I think they were colour-coded for MY99/00 v.5/6 (can't quite tell from that photo though )

N.B. BTW the car pictured is a special edition 'V-Limited' (V for Victory lol) model to celebrate Subaru's manufacturer's titles in the WRC - hence its WRC-like Sonic Blue paint job and roof vent.

o ive just spoke to the guy, hes very helpful..

however hes said the two yellow version 6's (1 sti and the other sti ra) are both grade R imports.

is that a big issue? they look really clean

he said his other cars are 3.5's and 4's etc. he just imported these R's as the yellow subaru was really rare and he had one person asking for that colour so he thought he's get an extra one however the person backed out last minute, so he's stuck with them both.

Hes been very honest and they are low milage aswell 70km . so is an R a no no?

Is this Mir Motors in Bradford, where the cars are located?

Condition of a Japanese used car

As can be seen 'R' is repaired or replaced, so unless the importer can provide a detailed report of what has actually been done, etc. then I personally wouldn't chance it.

You need to know exactly what has been repaired or replaced, preferably with Jap history to back up the Auction Inspection Sheet, as it could be anything!

Ha! Indeed. But hopefully, with a bit of brainpower, you'll be able to roughly decipher the invoices for possible major repair work...... Er, then again maybe not!

Today's XE.com exchange rate...

£ = 147.77 Yen

I think most of the auction sheet's salient points are relatively straightforward to decypher.
