The deal is all but done. exchanging cares next Saturday.

Getting a full AA inspection and HPI report as the seller hasn't got a record of the history, normally wouldn't buy a car without history but It's reflected in the price.

It's nearly standard except a turbo back s/s exhaust, green filter and green brake pads. a couple of small cosmetic bits too.

I'm having a full AA engineers inspection done with and HPI check just to be sure I'm not buying a lemon as I'm not the mechanical sort..lol

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, never had a subaru before and really haven't a clue about them .

to be honest,u need to find out wether the clutch is good,also u need to no when cambelt is due,they are both expensive jobs.if i were you i would have it completely serviced by subaru inc cambelt for piece of mind,u can expect to pay around £500 for all of it to be done.if is was me then that would be my priority.no history is a bit risky as these cars should have oil and filter changes every 7500 miles,last thing you want is grubby oil running through turbo,do it all for piece of mind,then keep doing it.im a freak when it comes to maintenence and running a high performance car means keeping it up together.things to do...... oil filter,oil,gearbox oil, rear diff oil,fuel filter,air filter,cam belt and tensioner,brake fluid?pas fluid?do it all bit by bit if u cant afford it all at once,making oil and filter with cambelt priority.just my opinion,ive had mine serviced religiously and touch wood its all be good.

Change the green stuff pads ASAP, EBC don't recommend them for the impreza anymore and haven't done so for a couple of years.

i got my cambelt and tensioner done by main dealer quite some time ago cost around £400,expect to pay between £400 and £500,dont let cowboys work on it,take it to main dealer as soon as u got cash,i know it is alot of money,but its very important that its done right,and of course u get good back up from them.

I would recommend doing some research into where your nearest subaru specialist is and having it booked into there. A Subaru Dealership will charge you more than most specialists will. Just post up on these forums asking for a highly rated garage local to you, and im sure people will point you in the right direction.
