Default ECU Voltage J1

Hi,

strange question but does anyone know the voltage running through the typical ECU? More specifically the J1 wire / resistor.

I was going to solder in a switch here, but an illuminated one so I could tell which setting I was on, and need to know if it runs a high enough voltage to close the circuit and light the LED. The LED has a switch on voltage of 2.2v +.

If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction that would be great!

Cheers,

Simon

I doubt the link will work that way, its prbably grounded with the link in, then with the link out pulled up to 5v, probably not 12v anyway.

I may be totally wrong but J1 is most likely going to an input pin, so i doubt it will be up to driving much, however I suppose it could sink a LED.

If you haven't already got a switch in mind then go for a single throw double pole switch, then one side can do the link, the other drive the LED seperately.

Thanks guys. I did wonder if the link had any juice to drive the LED. Will send a PM to Scott.

Thanks for the advice.
