I would use an ordinary mineral oil and change it a couple of times during the run-in period.

Well, as above really, I'll be using the cheapest stuff I can find - Morrisons own 10w40 mineral oil at £7 for 5 litres. One change after twenty minutes, one after 100 miles, one after 500 then finally switch to the good stuff.

Most people change the filter at 1000 miles but wont hurt to change at 500 miles.

My Engine builder recomended Millers 10w40 "running in oil" it's prob just 10w40 mineral but at £15 it's seemed reasonable enough so i'm going to give it a go.

I done pretty much the same, Just finished running in 2 weeks ago.

Used halfords own 10-40 Mineral oil.

Oil changes at 20 mins, 100 miles, 250 miles, 500 miles, 1000 miles.

On the 1000 mile oil change i changed over to silkolene Pro-S 10 - 50 Ester synthetic oil.

I replaced the filter and sump washer at every change as they are so inexpensive i thought it was better not to risk it and it cant do no harm.

I also used,

Max 0.3 Bar Untill 250 Miles
Max 0.5 Bar Untill 600 Miles
Max 0.7 Bar Untill 800 Miles
Max 0.9 Bar Untill 1000 Miles

Then at 1000 miles i put it at 1Bar.

Hope this helps

I used the cheapest mineral oil from the supermarket for first 500miles,

Then a new filter and cheap oil for another 500 then another new filter and the good stuff.
