Default Subaru WRX STi Version 5/6 Import turbo/mods

ok my little brother has just picked up his version 5 sti import and is loving his first scoob.

it currently only has a full decat 3 inch exhaust system and a hqs ssqv as mods.

he understands this mode is mapped to 100 ron so wants to get this mapped as soon as so wants to start with a few mods.

what would you reco, mmend his mods would be? or shud be rather?

doesnt really want to go over 400. anywhere between 300 bhp and 400 would be fine.. so lets say a 350bhp reliable or thereabputs, 340 would be fine

list all the mods and prices.. as i owe him quite a bit of money and his bday is coming up at the end of the month so i think ill pay for quite a bit of this.

also would they be a better turbo? that revs further to the redline? or spools up quicker?

or is the standard one just fine? td05 16g is it? also anyone know the weight different between the sti saloon and wagon in version 5/6 as both habve alloy lightweight doors and bonnet etc.? im asking a si had the wagon version and his feels quicker or it might be that i aint been in one for a while

many thanks

Only alloy panel is the bonnet. All this lightweight doors, wings and bootlid thing is a myth. Turbo will be a vf not a td. Think its a vf28 on a version 5.

Ok, right to start with version 5 and version 6 STi's are a little prone to detting (the 5's are definately) due to the map, now having a full decat wont exactly help that in any way, means or form, ie increased boost pressure and 1 dodgy tank of fuel..... ouch
Get the car mapped asap, I personally wouldnt rag it around, they definately dont like being decatted

As to your other question, which is lightest, carbon fibre or the alloy one, well the alloy one is acutally lighter than the carbon fibre one
