Default Turbos.... thrust bearing starvation

I've just been on the phone to The Turbo Centre (no one buy a turbo from them!!!) and they have come back to me saying that my turbo has failed due to "thrust bearing starvation" ...... Can someone please explain that?

There was plenty of oil there. It had been primed properly. I drove the car 20m and the new hybrid turbo was ****ed!

I've now fitted a standard turbo from ebay that i got for £60 and the car now works perfectly.

The car was my Astra 2.0 DTI that I swapped for the Scoobaru that I have now.
