Default Steering Wheel Removal Newage

I have an MY01 STI.

I need to fit a new conection box that sits behind the steering wheel which conects to the steering wheel for your horn and Air Bag.

Is there any thing i should know?

Or do i disconect the battery, remove Air Bag and undo the locking nut that hold the steering wheel on.

Cheers

Andy

You'll need a Torx bit to undo the bolts holding the airbag on to get at the big locking nut. Think it was a T25 size?
Also, you may need to belt the back of the wheel to free it off its spine - just watch out for your face when it suddenly comes free

yeah that's it.. you just take battery off.. remove air bag (security torks) and then undo the nut holding it on.. 17mm from memory..

by the book you need to remove the battery for a little while before hand to full discharge the capacitors.. but never seen one go off even with battery connected still.

don't turn ignition on with air bag unplugged as the system will log the fault and you wuill have to then get it reset.. it won't reset with battery etc

Cheers guys.

I take it that i unplug the Air Bag (yellow plug) and the horn (single wire black Plug) and thats it?

What about the main plug at the top?
