AVO's are bar and plate, rather than the OEM tube and fin. Bar and plate ones reduce the intake temp/pressure drop a bit, compared to a same sized core tube and fin jobbie.

I'd definitely get one if upgrading - even if still sticking with the TMIC route.

I have a v.1/2 pattern ARC bar and plate TMIC which I'm waiting to fit - it's all but the same as AVO's ones in it's core and end tanks design.

I have just checked your scoob and if I was you I would fit an STI8 tmic onto your car. It takes minor work to get it to fit and its one of the biggest tmic that you can fit

I have an AVO TMI on my 03 wrx, fitted 18mths ago. It's a top quality product, well made and been a real + on performance and much better since I upgraded bonnet scoop/undertray. Always feels cold at the end of a journey.
