Needing new Rad pipes.. suggestions?
Possibly going to be on of those "modification because the original is broken" things. Waiting for Chandler's to give me a call back reference the cost of an OE top rad pipe after mine decided to spit water all over my induction tubing this morning. I've got to get the 3 miles or so home yet, so with any luck the duck tape I shoved around it should help things a little as an emergency fix.
I presume there isn't much in the way of choice other than Samco, SFS or OE; but I thought I'd ask for some advice anyhow.
Also, is the rad self-bleeding to the expansion tank? As I can't see any other way of getting air out of the system. Might be a dumb question, but one of those things I think I should ask before I start confusing myself!

You're pretty much correct re the hoses. There are some vendors on eBay that sell non-branded silicone ones - I have these as top and bottom replacements (only cost £20 for both) and are working fine, no troubles.
I think you might be right re air bleeding. When my rad failed I had a new OEM one fitted at RCM and, IIRC, the mechanic stuck a length of plastic tubing into the expansion tank opening and syphoned coolant by sucking it out , so as to bleed out any air!!
