Default oil cooler fitting??

Hi all
Im in the process of fitting my oil cooler with remote filter.
What i would like to know is when the oil comes out of the engine should it go through the cooler or filter first??
Put another way should the remote filter be on the hot or cold side of the cooler??

Do you have an oil thermostat ? Please ignore if it is a track-toy, but a cooler will be bad news in winter on short runs, the oil will never warm up.

As to positioning, I won't comment as I don't think it matters, but would if a stat is fitted.

Well then I would suggest oil from pump to filter to stat to cooler.
Then cooler to stat and back to engine.

Obviously when the stat is closed oil doesn't go through the cooler and returns to the engine.

LOL

P.S. I had two coolers on my Imp..... at 10,000 rpm you need all the help you can get !
