Default Is this how a blobeye WRX should tickover?

When I pull to a stop the engine ticks over at 1,000 revs but after about 2-3 seconds they drop to 500 revs and stay there. Car doesn't judder, get lumpy or try to cut out or anything.

Is this normal?

Mine does it occasionally (55 plate WRX PPP) Mainly when cold, sometimes after a thrash when you first let the car idle. My other Imprezas have been the same. I wouldn't worry. Bob

Cheers Bob, think mine does it all the time, it goes deathly quiet too at 500revs. Might be a noise/fuel reducing element of the ecu.

My blob idles at around 6-700 rpm, though a little higher when cold. Not seen it do what you describe

pretty normal yes..

as long as it doesn't stall then no need to worry.. it sometimes is worse depending on exhaust decat used.. often need to increase idle speed slightly when remapping.
