Default Need Some Help really annoying problem's

My P1 has started making a really loud whining sound soon as it comes on boost, sounds like a supercharger or a alternater whine, but it is REALLY LOUD ,it was all fine till i nailed out of a junction and it was like someting broke all of a sudden and that was it now im stuck with this bloody whine ,
Iv changed the turbo, tried another intercooler,d/v,new gasket on the t/b,checked all the related pipes and cant find anything,

Also another little problem, dont think this has anything to do with the wine ,my throttle body has developed a loud tick, tick, ticking sound which is intermittant and as soon as you touch the throttle cable it stops, then comes back once the revs have settled down,
any help or ideas please guys as im getting really fed up now

Oh and the car is completely standard with just a boost gauge,
and the car still feels very strong and holds 1 bar of boost.

Sounds silly, but is your power steering level o.k.?

Could possibly be the manifold to up pipe gasket, had something similar back when I had the vf23 on my car and gasket was the problem.

If it was the manifold to uppipe gasket, would it not make the noise when just sat and rev'd up?,it only makes the noise when under load as the boost comes in.
I do think it sounds like some sort of tight bairing or belt so it could well be the power steering, but again why does it not make the noise from just revving up
I have had the intercooler off and double checked all the pipes,i hate little problems that are hard to find

It's difficult going on impossible to make boost without a load. Revving the engine whilst standing still won't prove much more than "it gets noisey(er) under the bonnet".

For me... Whining rising with the revs = drivetrain/gearbox noises, whistling or shrieking = inlet or exhaust leak.

throttle body.... likely to be the butterfly, have your idle rpms dropped slightly? if so tighten the tb cable a little which will bring up rpms but stop the rattle

as for whine under load, have you noticed a difference in fuel economy, ie using more for fuel, if so theres a leak somewhere, if you have a gauge you surely will notice a drop in boost pressure....

if not, and it defo sounds like a supercharger whine, and youve changed the turbo, as that would have been my guess, i'd go for trans.... question is it squeaky in anyway? if so then i would look at all IC hoses possibly a very small split...

I had a noisy gearbox as a result of the big bolt on the mainshaft coming loose and allowing 5th cog to move about. Also had difficulty selecting 5th gear.

Had it tightened up to fix the issue and sound is far quieter.

Possibility perhaps? Mechanic did say that the later gearboxes were known to have this issue.
