please help a friend of mine has just brought a uk 98 scoob everything seems fine with it but it likes to crunch into second gear every now and then .
now its already had a recon gearbox about a year and a half ago what i need to know is is this a big problem or can it be resolved easily any help is very appreciated thanks

hi mate im no expert but sounds like the syncros between those gears have gone ive got the same problem between 3rd & 4th better sorted sooner rather than later, i got quoted £300 to fix but not got around to sorting mine yet doesnt seem to be getting worse just take your time with gear changes Think api is the man to talk to about this hope this helps bud

try changing the clutch fluid. mine crunches in second but only when the car is hot. makes me think the fluid could be bad.

you could just try bleeding the clutch. its really easy to do.
