Mate has 06STi with full decat and big exhaust. Remapped to 340 bhp/380 ft-lb. Very lively. He has been advised that this is the limit on standard block and internals. The earlier 2.0L new age STis have stronger internals and are reckoned to be safe to 400 bhp without internal upgrade (rods and pistons).

I took mine to 380/420 on the std block and pistons and it was working beautifully at that level. A very rapid, reliable car which could also turn in 30mpg on a long run.

With the amount of torque they produce I am not sure you need to make 400bhp tbh. You won't see those figures so easily from the earlier 2 litres.

You won big at poker Neil You won't be disapointed, if you want a spin in mine let me know I have a few mods but clear 335/375 as a conservative estimate

The standard pistons are crap. Mine went on my 2.5 sti. If you have any plans to track it and/or modify it, I would recommend forged internals. If you have any plans to track it and/or modify it beware that Subaru UK wont pay anything towards the rebuild when it does go if they know anything about any of the above. I should know!

2 Scoobs, I may bring mine on the Tunnel Run just to deafen everyone with the anti-lag. You won't be disappointed with the 2.5
