Question Walbro 255 Problems !!!!

Hi All

Has anyone had any problems with a screaming pump, was out this morning for a bit of spirited driving when the pump started to scream not wine but scream and car won't rev past 3K without suddenley missing (I have a FPR, and apexi PFC) all was ok on the Knock on commander and the dial on FPR was 'as normal' too.

Anyone experienced this or got any ideas before going to chase Flat 4 ????

Thanks

If faulty FPR would that cause pump to scream because on tick over FPR gauge reads as normal and pump still screams ?

If you think it is a big problem you need to remove the pump and bench rest it.
Do you have any way of checking the fuel pressure on WOT? If not, how about an AFR check on WOT. If there has been a pressure drop your fueling will be weak and that can easily cost an engine EVEN WITH NO DET SHOWING.
Remove the pump inspection plate on the driver side rear, inboard of the rear wheel and get someone to listen in that area while you drive the car.
A replacement pump is £75 and easy to swap over but as you take the existing pump out look for leaks on the delivery side or obstructions to the gause filter pick up.
