Default Map sensor query

MY94 WRX; TD05, front mount, full de-cat.
Also fitted with an early ScottT scoobyecu chip running 16psi with a 17.5 fuel cut.

However on track days when temperatures get higher, the boost creeps up triggering the fuel cut.

A recent service showed a stored fault code in the memory for the MAP sensor (early type sensor - 1.2 bar)

So a couple of questions for the experts.
Can I fit a MAP sensor (1.7 bar) from a later 98 model ( I have one in my garage) without any problems with voltage signals?
I read a recent thread that a remap is needed, but I don't have the later ESL board. Is that correct?

Or should I just fit a FCD (HKS or Hybrid from Harvey)?

Or indeed any other suggestions?

I do plan on a replacement ecu in the future, but recent cash has been spent on brakes and handling, so not yet.

Many thanks
Dave

Check the part number. If it's 22012AA090 then its the 3 bar map sensor. Not sure on fitment without mapping changes though.

Cheers Daz.

Does anyone know if a remap is required if there's a difference in the map sensor voltage, or does the Scott T chip cover this?

Yes remap is required as calibration is different .
