Default impreza thermostat

where is the thermostat and what does it look like on a 95 impreza wrx import

how do you replace it, ive no hot air from blower and now winter is coming, need to get it sorted

Thermostat is by the bottom hose from the radiator. Where it goes into the block. Take off bottom radiator hose, then undo the two 10mm bolts and pull out the thermostat.

ok, will sound stupid, but is lots of coolant/water going to come out when i do this?

and would you jack up both sides on the front then do it? cars not lowered

Yeah the coolant will come out. I jacked up the car, I just put a basin under the bottom hose, undo the jubilee clip on the hose and pull it off. Your looking at about just over 6 litres of water. Take the cap off the header tank and let it drain out. Then i lowered the jack to get the last of it out. Once stopped jack it back up and undo the two 10mm bolts on the thermostat housing. Take it off then pull out the thermostat.
