Default Help Needed

ne help would be greatly appricated. i have recently bought a 94 wrx ra with 96k kms on it.when i go to start it from cold it turns over for ages and makes no want to go but will eventually with the odd back fire and strong smell off petrol and when it does start it misses a bit and will cut out if a rev above 1500 rpm isn't kept on it. when drivin off then it also misses until around when boost comes in. after driving till well warmed it will then drive perfect and start first time and idle with no problems i was told it was afm which i changed but made no difference.again ne help greatly appreciated.

Could well be the coolant temp sensor, I know these can cause real problems with cold starting. Do a search for more info, Martin.
