Default Is this the right ecu?

Hi, Ive got a 95 wrx ra and its got the V5 ECU. I thought these were fitted with the Z4 but im not sure, anybody know?. Also whats the standard bhp?

i found this while i was looking into my own ecu problems.. might be handy



U8, W6, 2C - 1993/1994 WRX 11.47psi
W9 - 1994 WRX RA 11.47psi
V7, 7D, 6D - 1993 to 1996 UK/Euro 11.47psi
SA (STi chipped) - 1993/1994 STi 13.64psi
SB (STi chipped) - 1993/1994 STi RA 13.64psi
Z4 - 1995/1996 WRX 12.7psi
Z5 - 1995/1996 WRX RA 12.7psi
6K (STi mapped, but not Chipped) - 1995/1996 STi 13.64psi
7K (STi mapped, but not Chipped) - 1995/1996 STi RA13.64psi
Prodrive UK ECU (Prodrive Chipped) - 1994 to 1996 13.68psi
1C, 3B, V9, V5 - All WRX Wagons 10psi, dropping to 6.8psi

ok thanks for that.according to your list ive got an ecu for a wagon?? now im wondering if a previous owner has put a different ecu in.this may explain why sometimes my boost drops to about 6 psi.

it would appear so, you should have the Z5 in yours. good choice of car btw i used to have one

wagon will be running a different turbo as well.
standard power should be 260ps

what turbo is in my car? is it the td05?

ok thanks.so basically im not gona be running full power on that ecu? ive been on ebay and theres a Z4 ecu.is this pretty much the same?

the ecu will take into account the cams, so with the Ra potentially having more aggressive cams you might still be a bit down on power.
You could keep your present ecu and treat yourself to an ESL live mappable board.
I got mine from jollygreenmonster and it was bloody excellent, only changed it to get a powerFC and now simtek.

How urgent do you want a Z5??

Ive just sold my 96 RA to a mate of mine and he's just bought a GEMS ecu to replace the Z5.

The thing is it wont be fitted and mapped for a month or so.

Its not that urgent cause the cars still driveable but obviously sooner the better. Do you know what sort of price he wants for it? Ive seen Z4s on ebay for £150!! If you could let me know that would be brilliant.

Check that that v5 hasnt been chipped?, the previous owner could have sold the z5 for good money, and bought or been supplied the v5 and had it mapped and chipped, worth a check.
