Default irritating whine

hello everyone

few months ago i had a really irritating whine which was comming from the power steering pump on my 94 sti, i decided to get a second hand pump from another member on here, which once replaced and topped up with fluid spolved the problem, however its since started happening again, getting louder as time is passsing however sometimes it makes no sound at all im just wondering if there may be some other underlying problem not the pump as dont really wanna get another if it could be something else, anyone got any ideas

thanks

ive topped the res up i think its leaking on one of the seals on the rack, dont know how easy this is to change, sounds hard anyway, umm maybe ive damaged the pump by the fluid gettin a bit low, the things is it never went that low?

if its one of the seals you can get some stuff from halfrauds that you put in with the power steering fluid that makes the seals swell up
