Default Is it safe to run a 3" decat exhaust with standard ecu map

I am considering a 3" turbo back decat exhaust for a MY06 STI UK. Would the standard map cope ok without running lean/rich or detting ? I will definately get it remapped more more power, but only after the warranty runs out.
Any idea what power it would get with the exhaust only and no remap ?

If you're taking away the DP cat, you might get problems with boost spiking on a UK STi IIRC. What is pretty much certain is that you'll get only minimal gains without the remap as the ECU will be trying to maintain the status quo.

I would say it's not safe unless checked for det. If the boost spikes sufficiently high the knock control will be turned off where it's needed most. Proceed with caution.

Why wait for the warranty? If your dealer is ok about a 3" full de-cat system, it's fairly unlikely they'll look for and detect a re-map?
