Rotated inlet manifold on a newage? Anyone?
Anyone done this and more importantly, anyone done it and managed to retain the aircon?
Interested to see you pics and any issues you found along the way?
Im looking into how much work it is to do. Ive asked the guys in the US the same question but its always nice to see if anyone has done it in the UK or if i would be the first.
(Which i highly doubt)

On a bigger turbo your are going to have lag but once it comes in If you go for a really big garret I doubt you would see full boost till say nearly 5000rpm but once it did come on boost it would probably make mine seem like walking
I would think a gt35r would say make full boost on frayz's car by about 3800rpm and be running out of puff by 7000rpm

Air is pretty elastic and there's still a lot of it about
I have methanol / aquamist injection.......there are lots more interesting ways to break things before going for a rotated setup LOL

On a 2ltr
I have driven a car with a td05 turbo mapped to 1.6bar peaking at 1.8/9bar, a 20g turbo mapped to 1.5bar peaking at 1.6bar. I have had a twin scroll turbo car with hyrbrid twin scroll turbo running 1.8bar peaking at 1.9bar and all these so called fast cars are very very slow as compared to a gt30r running 1.7bar As lag all depends on your gear You get in a proper power car and you don't care about lag as it's very easy to drop a gear and stay on boost
I'm sure steven darley can comment on how slow my hybrid twin scroll turbo was as compared to a proper rotated system

Lag is goverened by the turbo making boost... its the boost response that should be better with a rotated manifold setup.
Im sure the difference is quite small but id does make foir a much cleaner engine bay with shorter pipe runs.
Why would i want bigger than a GT30 if i want as minimal lag as possible Steve? lol

Frayz, from previous posts of yours, it sounds like you will be going blow through on the stock ECU (which will reduce the "lag effect" from the rich spike on tip in anyway). Do you think you will even be able to notice the effect of the shorter pipe run? Interested to know how much of a difference it really makes at the end of the day.

I was contemplating this route at one point, but my main concern as I was going blow through was being able to contain a straight section before the MAF element, hence why I did what I did...
The difference between draw through MAF and blow through is like chalk and cheese...

Yeah, ive had the same thoughts Neil. I think it can be done but after talking alot to the US guys that seem to do it alot. It seems the actual gain from doing it is so small compared to the huge amount of agro it takes making it all fit and work nice.
