Default Emissions

Car failed mot on just this, i am running a decat with a simtek ecu so here are the figures.

Std idle
co 7.52% fail
hc 313ppm pass
idle pass
smoke pass

fast idle

co 0.18vol pass
hc 160ppm pass

Lambda------fail

Natural idle not done

So i guess it's just a case of throwing the cat back on and refitting a new lambda sensor?

I have a new one here, three wire two white one black, am i right in thinking it doesn't matter where the two white go as they work either way?

Yes mate...

Lambda black < > OEM wiring white [sensor wire]
Lambda white (either) < > OEM wiring black [heater wire -ve]
Lambda white (either) < > OEM wiring red [heater wire +ve]

Aah ideal so i was right, well hopefully this will sort the high co level, i know the engine is sweet as a nut from experience and sure enough she flew through everywhere else so the faulty lambda would most certainly point to this.

Any idea how long a simtek would take to adapt to a new lambda, does the battery need to be disconnected for a set period of time?

Can't wait to get the retest out of the way now.
