Oil leak..rocker cover?? (pics)
Hi everyone,
To cut a long story short..
Had a bump on the front drivers side, bent the chassis arm and 1 exhaust valve head broke off and entered the cylinder head.
No other damage done...can't believe my luck!!
All the necessary bits have been ordered and fitted.
Car started up 1st time and nothing wrong.....
..HOWEVER.....
There was an oil leak, small drips when the engine was warm (5mins at idle)
NO OIL AT ALL when cold and standing.
Took everything off, seals replaced....still the same leak.
So, not the seals...so it looks like it is the rocker cover, that has a small hairline crack, which under running temperature, causes the crack to open and therefore leak oil.
Pictures taken from front drivers side after 5mins of idle..
Slap bang in middle of pic is where we suspect the leak is coming from..
If it is a rocker cover, I have 2 options, take it off and weld or get a new/used one.
I'd rather get a new one...which then leads me onto...where from?
Any help would be appreciated.
Chris.

Unfortunately I can't see your piccis as we have a restricted internet connection at wk.
Did you use sealant when you fitted the new gaskets?
You are supposed to use a small amount across the face of the half moon seals at the back of the head, & also where the front cam caps meet the head, as oil can seep past these joints.
