Default Gear box oil

HI, What gear box oil should i use i have an impreza V3 WRX import.

I used Millers first and found it noisy, then switched to Redline Heavyweight Shockproof, no problems and feels great.

The std oil spec is 75 w 90 which is ok to keep it clean change it more often
or the red line oil is good not cheap

Can't remember what the grade is, but basically whatever Subaru spec, that's what Heavy Shockproof nominally IS, as it sits in the gearbox. It was recommended to me by David at API, and he's build a hell of a lot of Subaru 'boxes including mine. However, Redline say that its viscosity increases to like 200 weight or something in the tiny clearances between gear teeth, which is exactly what you want - nice and liquid where it's not so crucial, nice and cushioning where you want protection. It works for me.
