not sure if this is me being paranoid or not, but i have decatted my94 sti wagon, and other than being stupidly quick, i get what sounds like a misfire when i change gear at high revs, is this normal or does the car ideally need to be mapped to take the decat into account.
other than this little problem the car runs and drives like an absoloute dream.
any help appreciated

check the coilpacks for any cracks if you are worried and while at it check the plugs.
To get the best out of the decat a remap would be worthwhile but i've run my 93 wrx decatted for a few years and it's fine

plugs and coilpacks are new, im guessing it is just the norm with decatting the car, more fuel in not enough fuel burnt = popping from the back, but just want to make sure it is nothing serious.
any more views on this.

I get pops and farts quite often ,so does the car
so you didn't really mean misfire just different noises out the back
I get the farts/pops on the downshift (4th to 3rd) not normally up so i personally wouldn't worry about it.
If you are worried a quick rolling road session may be worth a go.

yeh sorry, perhaps not very clear in first post, it only does it on overun, downchange sometimes, but more worryingly, at full chat up changes, every now and again it pops quite loudly.
