Fault code 44

Hi, i hope someone can help im getting code
44 Turbocharging Pressure Control Signal
Does anyone know what this means?
Please help,
I have a 97 uk 2000 turbo impreza

i have the same fault but i'm led to beleive its the wastegate control solenoid valve?

Today i took off the connector for the boost solenoid and sanded the terminals down as they were really dirty, put it back in and the fault code has now gone.
