Default 05wrx running problems..

The car is on 25k full service history..

It basically holds off the power, the full power is not there..

If you give it half throttle on boost its like the power comes and goes literally like "on, off, on, off"

When out of boost in low revs, it feels quite sort of heavy and sluggish..

Takes a while to pick up at all..

If you floor it through all the gears it comes on boost, but just not very hard at all..

Im really sorry i cant describe this any better, its really hard to describe, i think it is a fueling problem, but im not very up on these new engines..

So does anyone have any ideas of where to start first?

Thanks.

Will.

Why don't you take it to a rolling road & get it dynod, which will cost you £40-£60. That way you will get printouts showing exactly what it's doing, and can take remedial action as necessary.

At least that way you will be able to assure yourself it is definitely not working if nothing else. The chap operating the road will probably tell you what the likely problem is too if he spots the graphs look odd.

I would say that would be a good first step.

Will - a dyno session isnt necassarily needed but it does need to be hooked up to a diagnostics laptop or someone with ecutek deltadash to view the issues.

Zen are just down the road from you.

If the car has a decat exhaust, then it sounds like it could just be overboost. The easy way to solve this is a remap, but you might get somewhere with a different restrictor in the boost control plumbing. It would be an easy thing to diagnose either way I think.

Thanks for the reply.

It just has a Blitz nur spec backbox and a Baileys Dump Valve.

I shall possibly have to give you a call to maybe organise having a look at it.
