Default classic sti6 oil filter?

just noticed that scoobyparts sell genuine sti oil filters there pink, i bought a oil filter a few weeks ago from a subaru dealer but it was black ,do i have to change this to an sti one ?if i do would it be ok to reuse the oil?

Don't bother. The standard subaru black ones are fine.

thanks for the reply, and nice car cool grey is the best colour.
noticed you have an oil catch can ,it's something i was thinking about doing, what one do you have did you fit it yourself?

I just got one off eBay. They're not complicated at all, but a pain to plumb in. API fitted mine for me. Finding a place to mount it is actually the hard thing. Mine is down at the bottom of the engine.

Yep, really love my car. However, the engine has finally let go after 94k miles last week. Has always run so smooth, but the Turbo blades broke on the way to work and have got sucked in to the engine. Needs a rebuild so is with API to sort that out.
