New headers or just up pipe.

New headers or just up pipe.
The heatsheild has finally given up and has come away fromn the up pipe and is wedged between the exhaust and the cross member. Needs the up pipe taken off to get it out, however I have the following options - not sure what to do - advice would be appriciated.
1. Remove uppipe and replace with anothe standard second hand item or just wrap original pipe.
2. Replace with wrapped stainless item.
3. Replace with stainless headers and up pipe.
Car is running stard turbo (TD04) decat exhaust, Sti ECU runing 280 bhp.
Do not want to change the headers or pipe just for the sake of it, but will cost nearly £200 just to get the heat shield out!

go 4 the headers n up pipe mate, ideally because of the difference in diameter size and subseqent spool up time,u should have car remapped after.but if u get good quality headrs, they make the car sound fantastic, still got the flat four beat but so much smoother.

I was in a similar situation a few months back
I didn’t want to spend a fortune but wanted maximum results so I did a bit of research and decided to port my own headers and fit a stainless up pipe along with a stainless bell mouth down pipe
Oh my got what a difference before the mods I would only be coming up to 1 bar of boost around 4000rpm now its around 2500rpm and what a kick
Iv read that some stainless headers can reduce performance if you don’t have the right supporting mods
