Default Classic Door Mouldings

Hi

My MY99 Impreza is currently in a paint shop as it has had some minor damage repaired to one side and ,now it is finished, it has been discovered that the plastic mouldings that stick on the door are no longer available.

I have spoken to Subaru who confirm that they can supply something similar but it will not be identical and therefore suggest buying four.

The paint shop are reluctant to change the ones on the untouched side (so that at least all four would match) for fear of causing damage. The option of non matching sides does not appeal.

Has anyone faced this problem and found a solution? I have been trying to find an alternative source of parts since Subaru can't supply anything that matches with the originals but without success?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Is it something personal guys?

I don't come onto Scoobynet often but the response to this question is exactly the same as to my last posting i.e. nothing, so can you blame me?

Surely someone out there can give me a steer?

My thanks in anticipation.

I haven't because apparently they are a use once item. The mouldings are glued on and become distorted when taken off. Perhaps if they were removed very carefully it might be possible to re-use them but I dare say the garage just ripped them off expecting to get new.

Thanks for replying. It helps to restore my faith.
