Question What to do about these codes?

car 95wrx import

fault codes
24 - Idle Air Control Solenoid
45 - Pressure Sensor/ Pressure Exchange Solenoid Valve

again, im still a noob to the Scoobs engine, (used to lesser engines like zetecs) so want to know what each of these are.

The plank who had it before me obviosly didnt know why the engine light came on all the time, so he decided to take the bulb out so it didnt go off when i was there! he even damaged the circuit that went to that bulb! So little wire and solder later bang! engine light!

so that works, and above are the 2 codes i got,

can someone tell me what each do and where they can be found in the engine, i guess they need replacing, and are they very important (urgent) changes or is it still okay to drive as is?

i guess 24 is an idle control valve, which will be on the inlet somewhere,
as for the other one not got a clue?

ANy help much appreciated

Thanks

Terry

My turbo was recently changed and after it all being put together etc i got the 45 code coming up and found that the pipe of the manifold was knackered.

the control valve will give a dodgy idle and poor starting problems (it did on mine anyway) so although not an urgent fix it did make slowing down at junctions a bit of a nightmare.

The blue tubing has a small black bit of tubing going under it which was knackered replaced it reset the ecu and all is well.

sorry, dont mean to be a pain, but you cant chuck that pic in paint or something and doodle an arrow on the exact pipe?

is the idle control what you reckon is causing my stalling when coming down form revs?

sorry should have said coming out of the manifold there is blue hose (goes to the recirc valve) and it's the one next to it coming out of the manifold that is bent in a semi circle.

I will try to do it in Paint but not the greatest with PCs.

The idle control valve could be the problem,i think you can turn the beige top to sort it out but i'm not sure tbh.

thanks mate!! after you explained it alittle better i got it, so why would that cause Pressure Sensor/ Pressure Exchange Solenoid Valve error? surely its a sensor and not a hose? will check it over and see what condition its in.

anyone else shed some light?

If the hose is knackered and leaking the pressure is incorrect tripping the sensor which lights the CEL (which is what happened in my case)
