Default Servicing Question

Just bought a WRX 03 plate.
It has only done 5k in the last 12 months, but I'd like the oil and filter changed as god knows what those last 5k were like.

I live in Castleford and struggling to find someone close who might know what they are doing.
Esssentially, all I want is the oil and filter changed, so if I just supplied the parts and took it to my 'usual' garage, they shouldn't have any problems?
I only want the book stamping, I'd much prefer to do it all myself, but appreciate that resale value might not be its best without some form of garage stamp?

Tricky one really, any garage can and will do a simple oil/filter change. Remind them to pre fill the filter just to be safe! It's recommended to change the oil every 6 months or 6000 miles. IMHO I would rather see main 'big' services done by main dealers and regular oil change receipts from anyone selling on a car. If your going to spend £100's on main dealer servicing the car will only be worth 'x amount' more than non franchise services anyway. I kept a full service record on my MY99 up until 60k, for the last 9k I have serviced it myself and kept every receipt. Don't forget anyone selling a car could get a friend to stamp a book, but, it is harder to get a bundle of dated and relevant receipts.

Nice one mate.

I've got a business in Normanton, so that'd be ideal. Mum lives not too far from Knottingley too, so I'll give them a ring.
