Help with loss of power?
Hi,
I seem to have lost all power from the turbo. The engine seems to run/sound fine takes an age to accelerate.
It has been intermitant for a number of months, and what seemed to be a sudden and noticable loss of power accelerating up hill. I say up hill because usually happend on the same will every day. All other times was fine.
Today however it seems to be stuck with its loss of power.
My car is a 53 WRX with no modifications and 55K on the clock. I have plugged in the fault code reader and no stored errors.
Anything I can check?
Anybody recommend a garage north Aberdeen that would be able to diagnose fix whatever is broken?
Any help much apprecated
Thanks
Adrian

hi mate, sorry to hear that.
boost control pipework ok? i mean i wouldn't expect it, especially if it has been intermittent when the engine was under high load. I don't have enough technical knowledge, so any other suggestions would just be guesses, especially as there are no fault codes.
I was over at Walice Performance over at Bridge of Don today for a RR session. They can check boost, fueling and det in the process of giving you two power runs. The guy seemed very knowledgable and had no problem with talking to me about my low boost and having a quick look to see what might be up. it cost 50quid which i think is money very well spent and should hopefully shed some light on your problem at the very least.
hope you get it sorted mate!

Bridge of Don is perfect... I'll give them an shout on monday.
I have removed the valve to the intercooler and it seems to be ok. Had suspected it might have been stuck open.
Found a diagram that explains the rest of the pipework. Will have a look tomorrow. Will also try to remove the and have a look under the heat sheild if I can figure out how it comes off?
Thanks
