Default clutch problems i think ??

Hi guys just wanting a little advice

iv recently bought a 98 UK Turbo 2000 but recently the car judders slightly at the front when i sent off in first gear ?

Will i need a full clutch kit or just a single part ?

Is this the clutch ?

Thanks for any help

When I had that problem, I fitted a skimmed & lightened flywheel. It cured the problem. As the old flywheel had cracks all over it. If something is going to be needing replacing, I would do the clutch & flywheel is not cheap but better to do once and correct. Its a very common problem and a quick start will sort it out for a while

Have you tried 4000rpm start to see it helps it, also does it judder all the time or just when hot or cold

Could you not fit just a new fly wheel ?

If it's just a bit of judder, then it probably isn't worth going to the effort/cost of a new clutch/flywheel.

I would do it when the clutch needs changing anyhow and it's not an easy job on an Impreza.

Back in the 90's it was common to experience clutch judder. The cure was to give a hard launch (with a little slip) to clean up the surfaces of both flywheel and plate.
Some people managed to get clutches etc changed under warranty at the the time though.
