Default Different Cam Pulley Identification

Hi All,

I have an MY99 Uk 2000, and i need to replace a knackered inlet cam pulley.

I seem to have the stupid bakelite pulleys on the OS inlet and exhaust, a metal cam pulley on the ns inlet, and a black(not sure it its bakelite or not) pulley on the ns exhaust.

My question is are the plastic(bakelite) pulleys the same as as fitted to a 97 WRX??

My next question is can the metal ones from a 97 wrx/sti the same spacing, etc, as the plastic ones?

Then i'll know whether i MUST have MY99 ones, or not.

In short - No.
You need the steel L/H Inlet pulley off a MY'99(the other 3 are Bakerlite) otherwise you can have running/timing problems.

They are Version 2/3/4 (6 sided hex in the middle of the pulleys) with the earlier tensioner, not the Phase 2 one's.

Nobbie : We can make alloy pulleys for your car. These would be stronger than your bakerlite ones which are hard to get hold of plus are expensive . If you need some or just one of the pulleys give me a shout
We make adjustable pulleys already but can also make standard ones
