Default Can't cure power stearing leak!!

Hi, i have the mandatory power steering pump leak, and changed the o-ring,but did not fix it. I then changed it again, witha smear of three bond, still no good. Im starting to get to the stage where changing the whole pump is tempting, but seems like overkill. Can i fit a later pump, that are less prone to leaking? Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,Mit

Is it an early car with the round resovoir? I had the same problem with mine many a time. I then fitted the Square resovoir that was found on The RA,s and Legacys, has 2 bolts to hold it to the pump this cured the problem and never leaked since! Cost me afiver from a local scrappy!

Hi, yes it's the early round type. So you changed the resovoir and the cage that bolts it to the pump? Does it have a better o-ring assy? Did you have to modify it in any way?

Thanks,Mit

Yes mate just unbolted the old one complete and on with the new! No mods required just make sure you get the bolts with the square resovoir mate! Same O ring! Just seems to seal better, Subaru stopped using the round one for a reason!

I cant see the images as im at work and they are blocked, it should be black in colour and pretty much a square box with 2 bolt holes in front of the filler cap iirc.
