FOUND METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL :mad:
Hi Chaps
I have had a 2.0litre non turbo impreza which currently has 111000 miles on the clock, recived the car from the family as a hand me down and have only done eight thousand miles since owning it.
I have done the following since it has been in my hands;
Battery
HT LEADS
Spark Plugs
Wynns engine flush
Oil Change
Oil Filter
Air Filter
The problem is i was coming back from the air show when the oil light came on, pulled over and checked the oil and it was full so towed it to the garage and they took the sump off to find metal flakes in the oil
What should i do?
Stick a new engine in?
Replace the internals?
and is it common for the big ends to go?
Any Information would be very grateful
Many Thanks
Kind Regards

Did you hear any knocking or rattling? Or was it just the oil pressure light coming on? TBH there's no way to tell how much damage there is until you get the engine out and stripped down. If the bearings have gone, your crank will most likely be done for as well.
